The American Heart Association seeks an organized, enthusiastic, self-motivated Director to oversee our State-based Health Alliances in Albuquerque. The Director will identify, cultivate, support and, in certain cases, directly manage strategic public health relationships and other state-based alliances which support and enhance AHA’s ability to achieve it’s strategic goals and objectives. Working with other Affiliate (and National) leadership and program staff, this person will serve in an account management role to develop, coordinate and/or implement community-wide strategies, programs and services in order to fully leverage the current and potential value of these relationships for the entire Association. Accountable for integrating health initiatives and strengthening collaborative efforts across all business functions at the community level. Collaborate with the Dept. of Health and other government agencies and non-profits; coordinate AHA/ASA outreach to high-risk communities; organize and manage volunteer networks and coalitions; develop, coordinate and implement health impact integration strategies for fundraising events. Oversee data entry and maintenance of database. Must be team oriented and have outstanding customer service and presentation skills. Qualifications:
Qualifications include: * BA or BS in healthcare-related field, education, public health or another related discipline. * Minimum of two to three years experience in the implementation of community-based programs and initiatives and/or community mobilization. * Demonstrated ability in relationship-building, negotiation and conflict management. * Skilled in oral and written communications. * Ability to plan and work independently. * Superior organizational and interpersonal skills. * Excellent computer skills. * Ability to travel and work flexible hours.
